Caywork Platform
Author at Caywork
Choosing an AI agent platform used to mean picking a tool. In 2026, it means picking a model of work. Some platforms give you a marketplace of ready-made agents you run when a task comes up, others hand you a named AI employee with its own phone number and inbox, and developer frameworks like CrewAI ask you to build everything in code. Caywork and Aiinak sit on opposite sides of that choice: one is an open marketplace for running and publishing agents, and the other is a platform for hiring role-based AI workers. This guide compares the two side by side on use cases, pricing, setup, and control and shows where CrewAI fits if you are looking for a CrewAI alternative. By the end, you should know which approach matches the work your team actually needs done.
Two Different Answers to "How Should My Team Use AI Agents?"
Most AI agent platforms solve the same basic problem, getting repetitive work off a person's desk, but they package the solution very differently. That packaging matters because it decides how much you pay, how fast you start, and who has to maintain the result. Demand is not the issue: MarketsandMarkets projects the AI agents market to grow from $7.84 billion in 2025 to $52.62 billion by 2030. The real question is which shape of product fits your team.
What an Open AI Agent Marketplace Is
An open AI agent marketplace works like an app store for agents. Independent creators build agents for specific jobs, such as research digests, blog drafts, or web intelligence, and publish them in one shared catalog where anyone can find and run them. You pay per run instead of per seat, so the cost follows the work rather than the headcount. Because anyone can publish, the catalog grows in many directions at once, which makes the model strong for teams whose work covers many different tasks.
What AI Workers (AI Employees) Are
AI workers, often called AI employees, take the opposite approach. Instead of browsing for a tool, you hire a role, such as a sales rep, recruiter, or support agent, and that role is set up to cover a full job function across channels. The vendor designs the role, and you brief it with your knowledge and rules, much like onboarding a new hire. Pricing in this category tends to follow the employee metaphor: Rox reports that flat monthly subscriptions for AI sales agents typically range from $500 to $6,000 per agent.
Where Developer Frameworks Like CrewAI Fit
Developer frameworks sit underneath both models. Tools like CrewAI give engineers building blocks to define agents, tasks, and multi-agent crews in code, then deploy and monitor them on their own infrastructure or a managed cloud. That flexibility is real, but so is the effort, because someone has to write, test, host, and maintain every workflow. Many teams searching for a CrewAI alternative are not unhappy with the framework itself; they simply want the outcome without the engineering project.
Caywork at a Glance: An Open Marketplace for Running and Publishing Agents
Caywork describes itself as a single place to find AI agents for the work you actually do, and a simple way for creators to share theirs. It serves two audiences at once: people who want to run agents, and people who want to build and monetize them. Both sides meet in the same marketplace, which is the core of how the platform works.
How Users Find and Run Agents
On the user side, Caywork organizes agents by the kind of work they handle, including marketing and content, development, research and analysis, and day-to-day productivity. You browse the catalog, pick an agent built for the task in front of you, and run it without setting up infrastructure or connecting your own API keys. Examples featured by Caywork include agents for academic research digests, web intelligence, and SEO blog writing. The experience is closer to choosing an app than configuring software.
How Creators Build, Publish, and Earn
On the creator side, agents are built in a visual, no-code interface using triggers, agent cores, pre-built tools, and logic nodes. According to Caywork Creator, builders get access to more than 20 AI models and over 300 integrated tools, with authentication and API routing handled by the platform. Building, testing, and listing an agent is free. Once published, the agent appears in the same marketplace users already browse, so it can be discovered without the creator bringing an audience of their own.
How Caywork Charges: Credits, Not Seats
Caywork uses one-time credit packs instead of subscriptions. Caywork Pricing lists three packs, $5 for 100 credits, $15 for 300 credits, and $45 for 900 credits, which works out to $0.05 per credit at every size, and credits never expire. Each agent's creator sets its usage fee, so the cost of a run depends on the agent you choose; the pricing page estimates roughly 50 agent runs per 100 credits. New accounts start with 50 free credits and no card required.
Aiinak at a Glance: AI Employees With a Phone Number and Inbox
Aiinak positions itself as an AI employee platform rather than a tool or a marketplace. Its pitch is that you hire AI workers that act like team members, each with an identity, a job, and access to the channels a person in that role would use. Crunchbase describes the company as a platform that deploys autonomous agents for sales, HR, support, finance, and IT operations.
Role-Based Workers for Sales, Hiring, Operations, and Support
Aiinak organizes its product around a small set of named roles. According to Aiinak, these include an AI recruiter that screens r茅sum茅s and runs voice interviews, an AI sales rep that makes and answers calls and logs leads in a CRM, an operations agent that handles research and scheduling, and a support rep that resolves routine tickets and escalates harder ones. You pick a role, give it a name, and brief it with your knowledge and guardrails. The emphasis is on covering one job function deeply rather than offering many small tools.
A Built-In Workspace: Mail, Meetings, Drive, and Recruit
A distinctive part of Aiinak's approach is that each AI employee arrives with its own phone number, email address, and workspace. The platform includes native Mail, Meetings, Drive, and Recruit apps, so the agent can join calls, triage an inbox, search documents, and move candidates through a hiring pipeline without separate integrations. Aiinak also highlights that one agent keeps one memory across calls, texts, and email. For teams that want an AI presence customers and candidates can actually reach, this is the core appeal.
Guardrails and Per-Agent Pricing
Aiinak describes several controls on what its agents can do: an automated review gate on outbound messages, approval pauses for high-stakes actions, daily caps on calls, texts, and emails, and a full audit trail. Its site lists pricing starting at $999 per agent, without a public breakdown of plans or billing terms on the homepage. You can create a first agent without a credit card, and the company also offers demos with its team. Buyers should confirm the full commercial terms directly before committing.
Caywork vs Aiinak: Side-by-Side Comparison
Placed next to each other, Caywork and Aiinak are less direct rivals than two answers to different questions. Caywork asks which agent fits the task in front of you, while Aiinak asks which role you want an AI to fill. The table below summarizes the main differences before the detailed sections that follow.
| Caywork | Aiinak | |
|---|---|---|
| Model | Open marketplace of creator-built agents | Role-based AI employees |
| Best for | Many varied tasks across a team | Full coverage of one job function |
| Channels | Agents run in the Caywork workspace | Own phone number, email, and meetings |
| Pricing | One-time credit packs, $0.05 per credit, no subscription | Starting at $999 per agent |
| Free start | 50 free credits, no card required | First agent without a credit card |
| Who builds | Anyone, with a no-code visual builder | Vendor-designed roles you configure |
| Creator earnings | 75% of usage fee after action costs | Not offered |
Breadth of Use Cases vs Depth in One Role
Caywork's strength is breadth: a marketing lead, a researcher, and a developer can each find different agents in the same catalog and pay only for what they run. Aiinak's strength is depth within a role, where one AI employee handles a full sequence such as answering a call, qualifying a lead, booking a meeting, and following up. If your work is a long list of different tasks, breadth tends to win. If one function, such as inbound calls or candidate screening, needs constant coverage, depth tends to win.
Pricing Model and Cost to Get Started
The pricing models reflect those different shapes. On Caywork, you can start with free credits and a $5 pack, and spending scales with the runs you actually make. On Aiinak, the listed starting point is $999 per agent, which buys a dedicated worker with channels and apps included. Neither is cheaper in every case, so the honest comparison is cost per useful outcome, especially since G2 found that 33% of recent AI agent builder reviews mention pricing as a dislike, with unpredictable costs a common complaint.
Setup, Control, and Who Does the Configuring
Setup also differs. On Caywork, a ready-made agent can run in minutes, and building your own happens in a visual editor where you decide each step, model, and tool. On Aiinak, setup looks like onboarding an employee: you choose the role, share your knowledge, and set how much the agent may do on its own. The first gives you more direct control over workflow logic, while the second gives you a more finished role with less to design yourself.
Who Can Build and Earn on Each Platform
The biggest structural difference is who can build and benefit. Caywork is open: any creator can publish an agent, set a usage fee, and keep 75% of the remaining fee after action costs and a 25% platform fee. Aiinak's roles are designed by the vendor and configured by customers for their own use, and its site does not describe a public marketplace for third-party agents. For builders and agencies who want to turn workflows into income, that difference settles the question on its own.
Looking for a CrewAI Alternative? How the Three Approaches Compare
Many people comparing Caywork and Aiinak arrive from a different starting point: they tried a developer framework and want something faster to run. CrewAI is one of the best-known options in that category, and it is worth being clear about what it does well before treating anything as an alternative. The right choice depends on whether you want to build agent infrastructure or simply use agents.
When a Code-First Framework Is the Right Call
CrewAI is an open-source, Python-based framework for orchestrating multi-agent systems, and CrewAI Open Source says it is backed by more than 100,000 developers. It supports hundreds of open-source tools, the Model Context Protocol, memory, and checkpointing, which makes it a strong fit for engineering teams that need full control over agent logic and deployment. CrewAI Pricing lists a free plan with a visual editor and 50 workflow executions per month, while custom enterprise plans add SSO, role-based access control, private deployment options, and a 45-day onboarding. If you have engineers and complex, proprietary workflows, a framework is often the right call.
What Non-Developer Teams Give Up With a Framework
For teams without developers, the trade-off is time and maintenance. Every workflow built in a framework has to be designed, tested, hosted, and updated as models and tools change, and agent workloads are compute-heavy: Anthropic reports that agents typically use about 4x more tokens than chat interactions, and multi-agent systems about 15x more. That cost and complexity land on whoever owns the code. Gartner also predicts that over 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027, citing escalating costs and unclear business value, a risk that grows when a project depends on custom engineering.
Marketplace, AI Workers, or Framework: A Quick Decision Guide
A simple way to decide comes down to what you want to own. If you want to build agents in code and control the infrastructure, a framework like CrewAI fits. If you want one AI worker to cover a single role end to end, an AI employee platform like Aiinak fits. If you want to run many ready-made agents without code, or publish your own and earn from them, an open marketplace like Caywork fits, which is why it works as a CrewAI alternative for non-developer teams.
How to Choose the Right AI Agent Platform for Your Team
Feature lists rarely settle a platform decision on their own. A better test is to start from the work: which tasks repeat, who does them today, and what it costs when they wait. The guidance below turns that test into a short checklist you can apply to Caywork, Aiinak, or any other vendor.
Choose an Open Marketplace If Your Work Spans Many Tasks
An open marketplace makes sense when your team's repetitive work is spread across many small jobs, such as research summaries, content drafts, data pulls, and inbox chores. It also suits teams that want to experiment cheaply before committing, since per-run pricing avoids paying for unused capacity. That matters more than it sounds: Zylo found that organizations leave an average of 36% of SaaS licenses unused. Pay-per-run pricing keeps that kind of waste off the bill when workloads are uneven.
Choose AI Workers If One Role Needs Full Coverage
An AI worker model makes sense when one function needs continuous, multi-channel coverage, such as a front desk that must answer every call or a recruiting pipeline with high applicant volume. In those cases, an agent with its own phone number, inbox, and calendar can replace a scattered set of tools. The higher per-agent price is easier to justify when it maps to a clear headcount or missed-revenue problem. Measure it against the cost of the role it covers, not against the price of a single tool.
Questions to Ask Any AI Agent Vendor Before You Commit
Whichever direction you lean, ask every vendor the same questions before signing. What does one run, task, or agent actually cost, and is that pricing public? Which actions can the agent take without approval, and is there an audit trail? Can you build or publish your own agents, and what happens to your workflows if the platform changes direction? Aissist.io found that different AI agent pricing models can produce bills that differ by nearly 7x on identical volume, so getting these answers in writing is worth the effort.
Try the Open Marketplace Approach on Caywork
If the open marketplace model matches your work, Caywork is built to make the first step small. You can run ready-made agents, build your own without code, and move to managed agents later if you need them. Here is how each path works.
Start With 50 Free Credits, No Card Required
Every new Caywork account receives 50 free credits at sign-up, with no card required. That is enough to run a few agents on real tasks, compare the output with how you handle the work today, and see what a run actually costs. After that, credit packs start at $5, carry no monthly fee, and never expire, so a quiet month costs nothing extra.
Compare for yourself: run your first agent on Caywork with 50 free credits, no card required, no subscription, and credits that never expire.
Publish Your Own Agent and Keep 75% After Action Costs
If you build workflows that other people could use, Caywork lets you publish them as agents for free. You set the usage fee, Caywork covers action costs first and takes a 25% platform fee on the remainder, and you keep the other 75%. A creator dashboard shows end-user spending, node costs, and your share on every run, so you can price with real data instead of guesses.
Need a Managed Agent? Caywork Enterprise
Some teams want the outcome of an AI agent without building or running anything themselves. Caywork Enterprise designs custom agents around your workflows, hosts and supports them end to end, and offers predictable execution costs along with access to Caywork's growing library of ready-made agents and templates. It is the managed path for teams that like the marketplace model but need an agent built specifically for their business.
Frequently Asked Questions About Caywork, Aiinak, and CrewAI
These are the questions that come up most often when teams compare Caywork, Aiinak, and CrewAI. The answers summarize the comparison above in short form. For current pricing and terms, check each vendor's own site before you decide.
Is Aiinak an AI Agent Marketplace?
No. Aiinak is an AI employee platform where you hire vendor-designed roles, such as sales, recruiting, operations, and support agents, each with its own phone number, inbox, and workspace. Its site does not describe a public marketplace where third-party creators publish agents. Caywork, by contrast, is built as an open marketplace for running and publishing agents.
Is Caywork a Good CrewAI Alternative?
For teams that want to use AI agents without writing code, yes. CrewAI is a framework for developers who build and host agent workflows in Python, while Caywork offers ready-made agents and a visual no-code builder with models and tools already connected. Engineering teams that need full control over custom orchestration may still prefer a framework.
Which Is Cheaper to Start With, Caywork or Aiinak?
Caywork has the lower entry point: 50 free credits on sign-up, then one-time packs from $5 at $0.05 per credit, with no subscription and no expiry. Aiinak lists pricing starting at $999 per agent and lets you create a first agent without a credit card. The better value depends on whether you need many small tasks covered or one role covered continuously.
Can I Build and Sell My Own Agents on Each Platform?
On Caywork, yes: building and listing agents is free, creators set their own usage fee, and they keep 75% of that fee after action costs and the platform fee. On Aiinak, you configure AI employees for your own business rather than selling agents to other users. CrewAI lets you build agents in code, but it does not run a public marketplace for selling them.
Do I Need to Code to Use Caywork?
No. Caywork's agents can be run directly from the marketplace, and new agents are built in a visual interface with triggers, agent cores, tools, and logic nodes. The platform handles model access and tool authentication, so you do not need your own API keys.
Final Thoughts
Caywork and Aiinak are both serious answers to the question of how teams should put AI agents to work, but they answer it differently. Aiinak offers AI employees that cover a role across calls, email, and meetings, while CrewAI gives developers a framework to build their own agents in code. Caywork is the open marketplace in between: ready-made agents for many kinds of work, a no-code builder, pay-as-you-go credits that never expire, a 75% creator share for those who publish, and Caywork Enterprise for teams that want agents built and managed for them. If you want to see which model fits your work, start with 50 free credits on Caywork and run an agent on a real task today.
